Dragging Canoe

~~ Tsi'yu-gunsini ~~

War Chief of the Cherokee Nation

The art drawing of Dragging Canoe was used with permission by the Artist Mike Smith. Although not an American Indian, from the time he was a small boy he has always sought to learn of our people. Our way of life, beliefs, rituals and do hi ya ~peace~ we hold in our hearts. Through the quest of knowledge, he found his path to walk upon. This art piece was drawn with love. His Father D. Ray Smith, an historian spent many hours researching the history of the Great War Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chief Dragging Canoe. And it is here that both united as Father and son with the greatest respect for the American Indians.
