~ LITTLE ONE ~

Little One, do not venture far from my Spirit,

while you play among the things of Mother Earth.

Generations I have wandered this odyssey many times,

before you came to us like a gift in blessed birth.

Whatever ancestor speaks there is a difference,

merely by the transformation of the color of our skin.

Has never walked upright the Red Road's sacred truth,

nor looked deep enough to see the soul within.

~*~

Be the donor dancing in tribal traditional winds,

go fittingly where birds sing, listen for Eagle's cry.

Linger where muddy waters flow along the cedar,

capture the gentleness of a delicate butterfly.

~*~

Together we encompass this circle of life,

standing in respect and dignity side by side.

Crossing hands in unity throughout the land.

trust ancient written wisdom with great pride.

~*~

So listen carefully these teachings that I offer,

fires grow cold, dances fail and echoes soon die.

Unless promises are made, carried back to you,

hearts wait silently for returning answers reply.

Knowing others have spoken words,

seeing the confusion pooling in your eyes.

However honesty lies somewhere in the middle,

therefore it cannot be covered up or disguised.

~*~

Approaching ending daylight's final hour,

is there something left in horizon's distant sky.

Forgiveness is a price we pay for redemption,

passing nights, an Old One's tearful goodbye.

~*~

There is no real right or wrong here,

we must each complete a storybelt of our own.

Take care which beads are chosen for weaving,

lest evil becomes lost, mingled within the unknown.
